Whether you need a sleek corporate presenter, a casual team representative, or even an astronaut for a creative project, you can now build a digital speaker that perfectly matches your brand's voice and visual identity.

1. Why Use Custom Avatars?

Google’s AI avatars are already highly rated for their realism, but the new customization tools take them to a professional level:

• Unique Branding: Build a consistent face for your organization’s internal announcements or training videos.
• Global Localization: Adjust the avatar’s appearance and background to resonate with specific regional locales or diverse audiences.
• Tone Matching: Stylize outfits from professional tuxedos to casual wear to ensure the speaker matches the specific tone of your video.

2. Complete Creative Control

The avatar creation process is designed to be intuitive but powerful:

• Guided Generation: Use a simple text prompt or a guided form to generate your initial character.
• Easy Refinement: Don't like the first result? You can request specific tweaks, such as adding glasses, changing hair color, or swapping out the background location.
• Vocal Variety: Once the visual is ready, choose from seven distinct voices to pair with your avatar, ensuring the audio is as polished as the video.

3. Admin & User Access

• Admins: There are no specific admin controls for this feature; it is integrated into the core Google Vids experience.
• End Users: Access the avatar tools directly within the Google Vids editor. Look for the AI Avatars menu to get started.

4. Availability & Promotional Access

• Rollout Pace: Full rollout began on April 2, 2026.
• Eligible Tiers: Available to Business Starter/Standard/Plus, Enterprise Starter/Standard/Plus, and Education Plus. It is also available to Google AI Pro and Ultra consumer subscribers.
• Limited-Time Access: Business Starter, Enterprise Starter, Nonprofits, and Education Plus accounts can access these generative AI features for free at least through May 31, 2026.
• Note on Limits: Google is offering promotional access with higher usage limits during this launch phase to encourage experimentation.
